We had Totally Green out to deal with a second floor that never cooled down. Andre did the assessment and found our attic was only at R-13, way under what he said Title 24 asks for now. He quoted attic insulation plus sealing a few leaky duct joints, came out to about $3,100. Two guys showed up a little after 8 (said 8, got here 8:20, not a big deal) and finished in a day. They put down floor protection but there was still some fiber to vacuum near the attic hatch. Upstairs is genuinely more even now and our July electric bill dropped. Wish I had done it years ago.
Replaced our old tank with a tankless Navien unit after it started leaking. They got someone out the next morning, which I appreciated since we had zero hot water. The install ran longer than the day they estimated because the gas line had to be upsized to feed the new unit, about $600 we weren't expecting. They explained why before doing it. Runs great now and we're not paying to keep 50 gallons hot all day. Knocking off one star only because the first appointment window was wide and I lost most of a morning waiting.
Six week kitchen remodel that ran about a week long, mostly because our cabinet order got held up at the supplier, not their fault. Marisol was our point of contact and texted updates most days, which kept me sane. We went with the Energy Star appliances they recommended and quartz counters. Came in a bit over budget but that was us upgrading the range partway through. The crew was tidy, and the one time a drawer front showed up scratched they reordered it with no argument. We actually cook at home now.
Had eight windows and a slider swapped for dual pane low-E. The estimate was clear and Dev pointed out which windows were costing us the most in heat gain, so we did the west side first. About three weeks from measuring to install, waiting on the order. Install itself was two days. One window came in with a small defect in the glass and they had to reorder that single unit, which pushed the finish out another ten days. Everything else was solid and the west bedroom is a different room in the afternoon now. Final bill matched the quote.
We converted our detached garage into a one bedroom ADU for my mom. Big project, and permits took a while (that is on the city, not them). Totally Green handled the whole thing from design through final inspection, so I wasn't chasing five different trades. There were a couple change orders when we decided to add a mini split and better insulation, and they gave me the cost before touching anything. Final number landed close to plan once you account for what we added. Mom has been in there four months and loves it. Comfortable and quiet.
Had our whole first floor switched over to LED recessed lighting. Plan was 16 cans, the electrician suggested 18 to fill in some dark corners, which added a little but he was right. There was drywall dust despite the plastic sheeting, and if you know where to look you can still catch two of the patch spots, so we will probably repaint that ceiling eventually. That said the lighting is a huge upgrade and the dimmers are great at night. Cheaper to run too. Fair price and they cleaned up well.
